What was changed? At a glance.
Original versus tuned, Stage 1 versus Stage 2, your own file versus a third-party file: the Compare Tool shows every difference, groups it into areas and tells you whether it is a map, a fault code table or text. Plus a heatmap across the whole file and a hex view for a detailed look.
Interactive demo

How you work with it
Load file A and B
Drag two files into slots A and B. The tool recognises the ECU and checks whether both files belong together.
Read the overview
The heatmap shows the distribution of the changes. Below it the list of areas with address, length, type and change in percent.
Go into detail
A click on an area opens the hex view with both files side by side, differences are highlighted.
Check fault codes
For files with a known fault code table, you also see which codes were switched off in B compared to A.
Features in detail
Areas instead of bytes
Differences close to each other are grouped into areas. Instead of 4,000 individual bytes you see 100 areas with meaning.
Type of change
Map data, fault code tables, text, small single values or end of file: every area gets a classification and the average change of the values in percent.
Correct byte order
Big Endian on MPC and SH processors, otherwise Little Endian: the percentages refer to real 16-bit values, not raw bytes.
Heatmap
256 cells across the whole file, coloured by density of changes. Ideal for assessing a third-party file in seconds.
Hex view
Both files side by side with addresses, differences highlighted, browsable area by area.
DTC comparison
Uses the same recognition as the DTC Tool: switched-off fault codes are listed by number, not just as a byte change.

Frequently asked questions
Do both files have to be the same size?
Ideally yes. With different sizes, the tool compares the common area and reports the difference at the end.
Are map names displayed?
Currently you see type and address of the area. Map names from our database are in preparation.
Can I compare a file against the original from the database?
That is what the Stock File Tool is for: it creates the original file, which you can then load as file A.
Are my files kept?
The files are only held for the duration of the session and are deleted automatically afterwards.
Is there a Windows version?
Yes, with the same engine. It is included in the Workshop Package.
